My Creative Space

Thankfully the fabric I mentioned in my previous post is now dry, and so it's onto making Miss Almost-Six a beanbag for her bedroom! It's her birthday next Tuesday and I always like to make the girls something for each birthday.

Miss Two has just opened up a box of toys she hasn't played with for a while, so she's happily occupied while I work on the beanbag. Later today I am going to try making this Baileys Cake - Miss Two may help me stir the mix, but I can guarantee that I'll get to lick the bowl!

So that's what I'm doing in My Creative Space this week - thanks to kootoyoo, as always, for letting me play! Next week it's back to my "tats".

Happy Birthday for next Tuesday to your little Miss. My little miss will be 13 next Friday, wishing she was 6 again!!

  3. How many panels do you cut of that shape? I've been thinking about making one for my daughter. Beautiful blog.

  4. Thanks for dropping by everyone - I'll be sure to post a photo of the beanbag once its finished. I had hoped to finish it today, but I ran out of white cotton thread and can't get more until tomorrow. The Baileys Cake has turned out well, though! I've given some to a school mum and another chunk to the friend who looked after the girls while I was out at parent-teacher night. It's too good - and has too many calories - not to share!

Hi Naomi. For this pattern (Simplicity 5105) you cut 6 panels of this shape, then two half circles (sewn together to make a circle with a gap in the middle of the seam through which you put the beans) for the bottom. It's really easy - a few years ago I made two for our music room and they get a lot of use in our home!

  6. Almost finished the beanbag - I managed to get more thread last Friday but now I need to get more beans! I thought I had enough stored away but not quite. I'll pop some photos up during the week.
