I've just emptied out Miss Six's school bag. Usually I find her lunchbox (empty!), a few uniform items (I was especially pleased just now to see her costly spray jacket there after a boy in her class accidentally took it home last night), her reader (she's doing very well), her communication folder (with school notices and the like) and occasionally a few pieces of school work.
Today I found a completed 52 page "Single Phonograms" workbook. Having not seen it before I flicked through it, smiling as I saw her improving attempts to write her letters, her drawings, and the other little activities she has been working on. Her enjoyment and persistence was evident as I noted that all the activities were carefully and diligently completed.
And then I turned to the last page where there was one final activity where the children had to draw and write the word provided. And I grinned when I saw the first word - clearly whoever wrote this workbook has their priorities right!
Not only that but you have a child who knows how to draw one!
ReplyDeleteYes! Although I did want to ask her about the last seven blocks being left white...were they a design element? Or left blank due to a lack of available coloured pencils or limited time? :)
