I'm putting my hand up to help too...

When disaster strikes we all instantly ask what it is that we can do to help. Crafters all across the country begin to sew and stitch and have auctions and raffles. And it's inspiring.

Well - I'd like to think that I'm no exception to this generous response. After all, how many of we crafty people actually spend any time making anything for ourselves anyway???

The first thing I will be doing is seeing if my market team wish to put February's market funds towards the Queensland Flood appeal. Which means I need to make up some more magnet pegs, pencil wraps, a few kids clothes, and - in response to a request by a customer - go op shopping to find some "manly" fabric from which I can make some more masculine passport holders. And the other thing I will do is reunite with the Snuggle Quilters - an amazing group of ladies who did an amazing work when the February 7th fires struck in 2009.

I'm not really good at coping with disasters, and - having recently being diagnosed with symptoms of anxiety - I have been keeping away from a lot of the media reports about the devastation in Queensland lest I collapse in a crumpled heap.

But I can stitch and I can sew and I can definitely pray. I can find my little bit to do to help.
