Another Successful Surgery
Miss Seven had her tonsils and adenoids removed yesterday and I'm pleased to say that, while she still has a week or so of recovery time ahead of her, she is home and doing really well. Of course, an ice-cream and jelly diet go a long way to helping her recover. Especially when the jelly is blue lemonade and pink creaming soda flavoured.
Did I mention that she was in the same hospital that she spent three weeks in after she was born? There were several times overnight when I smiled to myself, thinking how our journey had begun in the same place we found ourselves in today (although this time on the Surgical Ward, not in the Special Care Nursery).
My Kinder Girl also did well staying home with Gadgetman's parents - as he is in the USA at the moment and unable to do Dad duty. I have seen photos of her wearing Pa's pyjamas and getting up to all kinds of mischief while we were away.
I said to my Gadgetman in a message last night, after waiting for what felt like hours for him to come online (11pm my time / 7am his time), that it felt like my family was a string of beads that had come undone and all the beads had scattered in different directions. Well, as I sit here now I feel like my string is slowly rethreading. And once G'man is home I can tie the knot with all the beads back safely on the thread again.
Much love to you and yours, wherever this post may find you in time and place.

Glad to hear that your big girl is doing well - what an awful way to end the school holidays! Hope that your clan is all safely back together soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind words, Jackie. All is not lost...my Big Girl has saved all the craft kits she was given at Christmas time for the next two weeks! Plus there's her knitting that she's learning and a whole long stitch she's ready to attempt. Throw in a few hours of ABC 4 Kids and I think we might just get through okay :).
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful metaphor.
ReplyDeleteHope the girl continues to feel better.
