My Creative Space

I am ever so grateful that I "stumbled" (as one does in the blog world) across Kirsty's weekly "My Creative Space" feature. I have been following along these past few weeks and it has meant that every Thursday I have paused to take stock of what I have been doing. It has been encouraging and motivating to see what everyone else is doing, and it has started to keep me accountable - ensuring that I am getting through my long and lovely sewing to do list!

So for my first time of playing along, I thought I would show you the trolley of pre-loved things that I have waiting to be made into something new. There's old jeans, skirts, knits and track pants in this collection - all waiting to be kids' skirts and pants, toys and snuggle quilts. Right down the bottom are some t-shirts that the girls have accumulated from concerts they have been to - they'll become a quilt one day when there are enough. There are also some of Gadgetman's t-shirts from former jobs - the logos of which will end up on some kind of quilt for him. I can see another couple of t-shirts - one with "I'm the Big Sister" and the other with "Little Sister" printed on the front - they too will be turned into cushion keepsakes, or the like. And there's some curtain remnants waiting to be made into curtains for the cubby. Right on top are the current patterns I am using to make a few more dresses and some PJs - along with a list of fabric lengths I need to get. And on the left is the dress with the hideous dye job that I mentioned in a previous post. I ended up making it and will just see how it goes...

Heh heh - and what sewing trolley is complete without a few quilting tools?

Thanks for letting me play - I hope something exciting is brewing in your Creative Space this week.

  1. Nice to meet you! Your trolley looks like a much better organized version of my sewing table/box/foot of the bed, everything waiting for their turn!

  3. Hi Screamstress - nice to meet you too. My trolley hasn't always been this organised. I actually fear that now I have everything neatly stacked that it might be too easy to let it sit there a little longer...perhaps when it was all roughly stacked and half falling out of the wardrobe it had a greater chance of getting in my way, and thus being turned into something new!

Kisrty - My pleasure! Thanks for having me :).
