A New Favourite Dress

Well - here it is. The first of my upcycled dresses to be photographed. This was an a-line skirt in size 12. Now it's a dress for Miss Two - and I was right. As soon as she saw it she wanted to wear it!

Miss Almost-Six has been wearing her swishy skirt all morning, but has currently swapped it for her new Tinkerbell dress-up, so a photo of that will have to wait.

Now - I think I saw a pair of jeans that Gadgetman hasn't worn for a week or so...I wonder what I could make from them?

  1. Great work Kirrily! What pattern did you use and how does it do up at the back?
    Sorry for all the questions!
I can see why Miss 2 would love it :)

  2. I tweaked Butterick's B4172 (http://butterick.mccall.com/b4172-products-1167.php?page_id=401). Because I was working with something that already had seams, etc, I was able to take some shortcuts.

The back has a zip to do up - and here's the real treat - I was able to use the zip from one of the other skirts I bought! It meant the zip wasn't the full length that the pattern suggested - but that's half the fun of upcycling!
